Hey all,

I just switched cell carriers so everything is transfering over today and there might be some gliches. If for some reason you hear music when you call in, you don't get a voicemail or I don't call you back. I have to reinput all my numbers...so hang in there!!

I love my new phone though...thanx to DJ and JT for turning me onto the new Blackberry Pearl...I can check my email all day long. JUST WHAT I NEED!

Amazing•Inspiring•Strong•Beautiful

One of my closest friends here in AZ is Mrs. Tory (now) Feiler. God not only placed her in my life during the most ups & downs I've seen since senior year in college, but he blessed me by giving me the opportunity to know her mother, Jessica Pottinger.

You need to understand this woman is one of the strongest most courageous individual I've met, second my aunt and grandfather. I've never seen such a beautiful soul be so at peace with herself and her situation. She has ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease and you would never know it if you spoke to her. She is full of life, life lessons and peace...We started her on this blogging kick and she writes the most beautiful and simple things. (jdpottinger.blogspot.com) I just read her blog for the first time in a few days and stumbled upon this post she wrote. She talks about a beautiful poem that we would read to our campers during SuperCamp Colorado & Stanford. It has a poignant message so read below with an open heart:

“I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning………to the end.
He noted that first came her date of birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all,
Was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth….
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth.
For it matter not, how much we own;
The cars…the house….the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard….
Are there things you’d like to change?
For you never know how much time is left,
That can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough
To consider what’s true and real,
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger,
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we’ve never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect,
And more often wear a smile….
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy’s being read
With your life’s actions to rehash…
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash.?”

Life is a whirlwind....

I have had the craziest week and half. I feel like I've been going nonstop every single day. I am sooo backed up with design work it's insane! I have a BEAUTIFUL soo belated album to present to Hollye (I swear I am giving you samples ASAP!!) as well as a slew of design work for Phoenix Bride & Groom. While having enough work to keep me busy isn't enough, my dear friend David Jay came into town for a week. Which you need to understand, a week in one location for David Jay is a HUGE deal! I had to soak up as much positive and creative energy as I could! Natalie one of the 5 of us from my GPP girl clan came to visit so we had a night of laughs and crazyness! I will not forget that night!! As well as Brian's dad came into town kinda last minute and it's been Italy talk every night (which I love so much). I think we were able to eat at all my new favorite restaurants this week! Grazie (3 times in ONE week), Frank & Lupe's, El Chorro!! So much fun!

SO...if I have neglected to contact you, get back to you or even see you in the past week and half now you understand where I have been and what I've been doing!

Everything will slow down come this Wednesday and then up to Sedona to relax for the weekend!!

Shoot me an email and I will definitely get back to you this week. I am trying to limit my use of cell phone as it seems to take over my life!!!

Love you all

Crazy Busy

Hi all--
I'm so excited because it's the best week EVER! A very good friend of mine Natalie is back in town...so lots to catch up on as well as designing her wedding invites and such. I have a lot of design work that is keeping me very busy. Didn't think I would be doing as much freelance design but I love it--keep my creative juices flowing. Brian's dad is coming into town, and I'm so excited as I was the trip planner for their excursion to Italy. There are a TON of stories to be told! As well I have one of my dear photography friends David Jay that just reached AZ ground...we are going to ADORE tomorrow if anyone wants to attend with us. 7pm at Grand Canyon University. I'm so blessed to have an entire week with these two...so I better get some actual work done so I have some free time!!

--DJ & I--

PS: If anyone is interested, I'm the event chair for AIGA's Art Auction. If you are an artist and want to donate any type of art please follow the link (www.AIGAArtAuction.org) and let me know.

Also if you are interested in attending let me know so I can give you ticket details. (Friday November 10th at MonOrchid) It will be a great gathering of art and non art enthusiasts! Part of the proceeds will go to Free Arts of Arizona which is a great organization that sparks creative spirit in at-risk children. Father Bruno donated a piece of artwork so all you Gonzaga lovers better make it to this event!!

Have a great week!

Smiling

I feel like I finally started to genuinely smile again...for loving life, the people in my life and my decisions. I was asked the other night what my favorite qualities were in someone...and it didn't even dawn on me until now, SMILING. It is such a simple thing but it makes such an impact. I love it! I've been sitting here reminiscing over memories of past and very present...all of my reactions are just a huge smile! It's the greatest feeling! I hope I can recognize to smile more. We all should..just embrace and love the life we have!!

**Saying goodbye to the family**

**It's like the Fiorentina elevator---but in Matty's apt. complex**

**The pie**

**The boys know how to decorate!**

**Jared soo confused**

**Bloomingdale girls!**

**SB boys + Chad**

After Brunch with Bruns & Via we headed to Matty's house in Sleepy Hollow for a little bbq and wedding crashing! I now became obsessed with Justin Timberlake's new cd, thanx to Matty and his obsession!! We choose wild pheasant that Matty caught to cook with Jade & I's signature roasted potatoes (La Spada style) and some homemade apple pie. The only reason it became apple pie was because we had this brilliant idea to go blackberry picking in the yard, and after a few thorns, yelps (*note there was an outdoor wedding going on next door) and half a bowl of berries, we ventured for apples!! The meal turned out beautifully, presentation wise that is. The pheasant that was drenched in olive oil completely caught on fire with the grill HILARIOUS SIGHT! And then the beautiful apple pie was overcooked and turned to soup---which we found out Jade cannot eat without spitting it all over my face! It was a great night and ended at Smitty's a local Sausalito bar that brings in the locals.

I was able to do a little bit of shopping while in San Fran so Jade & Jared took me to the brand new Bloomingdales. AMAZING! We walked the streets of Haight district and then met up with Matty for some drinking before I left for home the next day. Our conversations ventured from Florence to Midgets to scaring Matty with spider stories.

A great weekend! It was so nice to get away...I am planning another trip VERY soon because I miss the city so much!

Enjoy!

San Fran Photos

I ventured to San Fran for the GU-Bayarea Gonzaga in Florence 40th Anniversary Gala. I was definitely in need of some R&R in San Fran as well as a mini reunion with some of my most favorite people!! Father Bruno auctioned some of his painting off and we had a great Italian meal! Noone but Matty and Jade knew I was coming into to town, so the SB boys were a bit surprised to see little 'zoni showing up. We had a blast...hung out till the early am like the good old times in Florence.

My biggest treat was having breakfast with Bruno and Fr. Via with 4 others. It was soo intimate and so personal. I loved it and definitely needed some Bruno guidance and love! He donated one of his paintings to our AIGA Art Auction on November 10th. If anyone loves Bruno's art, just let me know and I will point you in the right direction for tickets!!!

I was only in San Fran for such a short while but was able to see sone amazing areas and shoot LOADS of photos with my friends. Matty & I have a photography fetish and seem to just shoot the most random photos when we get together. 3 gig cards later..here are some of them and more pics to come.
